Marriage
Please contact the Rectory at least one year in advance of your wedding date. Saturday weddings can begin between 11:00 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. or at 5:30 P.M.
St. Pius V Parish believes strongly in marriage preparation and maintains that the sacrament of marriage deserves the utmost respect.
The parish wants to help you to prepare for two things. The first is the marriage relationship which will begin on your wedding day and continue for the rest of your lives. The second is the actual wedding ceremony or mass.
Marriage preparation consists of the couple meeting with a member of the Pastoral Staff and participation in the Engaged Couples Program which is held twice each year. The Engaged Couples Program has been a vital segment of the St. Pius V parish community since 1985. Since that time, over 600 engaged couples have actively participated in the program as a way of preparing for Christian married life. As part of the program, written talks are prepared and shared by married couples who offer their own personal experiences covering topics such as communication, expectations, and spirituality in marriage.
The Pastoral Staff member will also help you to prepare your mass or ceremony. The music director, Patrick Caulfield, will also be available the first Wednesday of each month from 7:30-9:00 P.M. in the church to assist you in this.
Married couples are needed to serve on the team which plans and carries out the Engaged Couples Program. Various informal meetings with the pastoral team are held quarterly throughout the year with a minimal time requirement. Ways to be involved include preparing and giving presentations, providing hospitality, administration, or being a prayer couple.
